Ep. 3 · In conversation with Mary Reynolds Thompson

In today’s episode, we talk with Mary Reynolds Thompson, author, facilitator of poetry and journal therapy, and certified life coach who helps people discover and live their Wild Soul Story. During our chat, we explored the relationship between inner and outer nature, as well as the dialogue between Earth and Self. Mary explains what Wild Language, a concept she coined, means for her and how she uses it in her work.

We talk about metaphor, meaning-making, archetypes, and the primordial wound or separation between humans and the Earth, or nature, to which we belong. As an experienced poetry therapy facilitator, she offers her wisdom on how to facilitate group sessions that are not only safe but also successful in helping participants find and express what they need in that moment. Finally, Mary leaves us with a writing practice rooted in nature.

This month of April 2026 sees the publication of Mary Reynolds Thompson’s latest book, The Way of the Wild Soul Woman, an eco-heroine’s journey through Earth’s archetypal landscapes as vital aspects of the wild feminine. It shows how to heal and reclaim the creativity and power patriarchy has suppressed in us. We emerge, untamed, unashamed, and unstoppable.
